Le Circuit du Paysan

The Circuit on bike

The "Naroua" Circuit
The "En longeant la rivière" Circuit
The "Corey Hill" Circuit
The "De la frontière" Circuit

Of the many country roads in southeastern Montérégie, many are ideally suited to one of Quebec’s most popular activities: biking.

Cyclists who have taken these picturesque roads often refer to them as “natural bike paths”. In fact, several paved roads are only used by locals and as such, can be traveled in complete peace of mind. They offer much more than this, however. As you travel freely on these quiet roads, you can admire a landscape shaped by French, Scottish and Irish settlers 200 or so years ago!  In the villages, you will discover a unique built heritage made up of stone houses, Anglican churches, rock fences, old barns, mills and more.

You still need to take care, however. Although there is little traffic along the suggested routes, keep in mind that you are sharing the road with motor vehicles.  For this reason, the routes are not recommended for children 12 and under, with the exception of the "La Piste du Jardinier" bike path linking Saint-Bernard de Lacolle with Sainte-Clothilde de Châteauguay. Established along a former railroad track, this nearly 20 km path is closed to vehicular traffic.

We wish you an excellent ride
