route
Relatively easy route. Travel from the south to the north
to take advantage of the river’s elevation and dominant southwesterly
winds. This route is linear and therefore involves making a round trip
unless you use two cars. An alternate route allows you to make a loop
between Ormstown and Powerscourt.

Flowing
down from the heart of the Adirondack mountains in New York State, the
Châteauguay River abounds with reminders of our history: art, culture,
agri-food, religious diversity, architectural heritage and more.
You will have the chance to discover this superb body of water as you
travel the winding country roads that run alongside the river, from the
Powerscourt covered bridge near the U.S. border to Mercier. |

The
alternative route between Powerscourt and Ormstown allows you to make a
round trip without doubling back.
Departure point: Junction of Chemin Island and Route 138A in Ormstown.
Leave your car at "Galeries Ormstown ". Travel Route
138 west on bike. BE CAREFUL. Shortly after crossing the
bridge over the Châteauguay River (less than one km), turn left on
Route 138A. Chemin Island will be on your left
about 300 m later.
