Who
better to describe the landscapes seen on this route than Jean O’Neil in
his novel entitled "Le fleuve", published in 1995:
"Orchards and maple groves abound as one heads down the hill (Covey
Hill) with herds grazing as far as the eye can see among the fields of
corn and fodder perfectly aligned along the concession roads that
endlessly cross the bed of what used to be the Champlain Sea. When we
returned to this plain, it was difficult not to glance back at the hill,
the scarred citadel, the century old sentinel of the Adirondack
Mountains that resemble a beached whale and still whispers, “I saw the
coming of the Atlantic and its retreat”. (translation)
On Covey Hill’s gentle slopes, explore a countryside dotted with
history. Honey, mead, beer, wine, red deer, emu, organic products, maple
products and products made from the famous apples of the southwestern
townships all await you on this delicious route.
Take
note:
This route includes a few steep slopes. |
